Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for strategically placing HD Supply brands at industry events and partnering with team members and stakeholders to deliver superior client experiences in the industry, driving cross-brand solution adoption and achieving stated event goals and objectives.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Plans, manages and executes strategy for various 400 square feet or larger trade shows.

  • Engages and interfaces with key stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure goal alignment for industry events and trade shows. Shares resources and best practices with the business.

  • Leads and develops team members to execute on industry event and trade show initiatives with a high degree of service and success. Hires, trains, develops, and reviews the performance of staff.

  • Participates in the annual budgeting process associated with events for one or more industries. Manages applicable industry trade show and event expenses to include monthly forecast and monitoring.

  • Interacts with stakeholders across the organization, including sales marketing leadership and product departments to ensure alignment of approach at all events.

  • Partners with merchandising on appropriate vendor partnerships, show specials and product showcases.

  • Recommends key vendor partnerships for storage, giveaways, displays, etc. Negotiates contracts with vendors and manages internal and external agency/vendor resources.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Experience provides solutions.

  • Ensures that work is performed consistently with company policies and procedures.

  • Leads a group or team of support, craft, or lower level professional associates.

Work Environment

  • Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.

  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).

  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
