Job Description & Qualifications
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deepen organizational understanding of site search and navigation features. Defines the product strategy and vision for site search and works with internal and external stakeholders to execute the product vision.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Uses data to make decisions on site search and navigation optimizations, including redirects, attributes, displayed as filters, boost/bury rules, and thesaurus entries. Executes optimizations in the Bloomreach search dashboard and regularly reports on the successes and failures of optimizations.
Develops and applies in-depth expertise of HD Supply product assortment and how customers perceive products. Optimizes classifications and attributes used to find products.
Identifies problems and deficiencies and implements solutions in a timely manner.
Educates and advises cross-functional teams, including Data Governance, Merchandising, and Marketing, in order for the organization to deliver maximum search results.
Works with web developers and marketing teams to properly implement search engine optimization best practices. Suggests improvements for process and productivity optimizations.
Defines and articulates the product vision for search and navigation. Assesses current and future capabilities and return on investment analyses for new features.
Assesses changing capabilities in the marketplace. Stays connected with the Bloomreach future road map and competitive landscape.
Nature and Scope
Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
Experience using data to make decisions on a large-scale product.
Experience working with site search tools, such as Endeca, Bloomreach, LucidWorks, UnBxd, or GroupBy.
