Job Information

HD Supply Director Analytics & Insights in Atlanta, Georgia

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8+ years of analytics experience, 4+ of those years in a leadership role managing an analytics team.

  • Experience in leading and developing multiple analytical teams.

  • Will provide a vision and direction for future analytical needs for the marketing and sales organization.

  • Lead Data Engineering practices to set up data for the consumption of data analysts.

  • Drive sales and marketing decisions by providing adhoc analysis for recommendations.

  • Will set up reports to highlight marketing campaign performance and dashboards that highlight health of the customer base and customer trends.

  • Participate in partnership with marketing leads in the development of a learning plan that allows for optimization through test design and test management.

  • Ultimately will develop a formal approach to Data Science to quantify relationships between customer behavior and desired outcomes using segmentation, ML modeling, and probability scores.

  • Technical Tools will include:

  • SQL, Python, and Tableau.

  • Adobe Analytics, Adobe Campaign Manager

  • Big data platforms including Snowflake and GCP

Job Summary

Responsible for being a key leader in the digital organization to include originating, implementing and managing strategic programs to drive incremental omni channel growth in marketing, e-Business and other sales channels. Direct and oversee Marketing, E-business and Business Development analytical support including segmentation, personalization, data extraction strategies, product penetration trending, price elasticity modeling, cost impact analysis, market trends, competitive insight, customer house file statistics and promotional campaign results. Responsible for the strategic direction of primary and secondary research, customer loyalty and voice of the customer satisfaction measurements and new market potential. Responsible for the analytical support of business development requests for information on competition, vital statistics and customer trends.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Leads marketing analytics, web analytics and customer insights teams.

  • Directs the analytical strategies for various departments in the areas of its use, location and validity. Understands the relationship between transactional databases in order to extract accurate information in a timely manner. Manages the day-to-day operational functions related to the interaction between information systems for the supported groups through effective use of the data warehouse.

  • Establishes and manages the data variables needed to create the marketing segmentation used to create effective promotional campaigns designed to drive response rates and maximize ROI. Oversees the production of final reporting of promotional programs.

  • Supports various strategic business development opportunities in the gathering of vital competitive and customer trend information to be used with the development of new services or segments.

  • Oversees the management of research programs that drive business decisions which identify customer satisfaction levels and ensure that customer loyalty is maintained.

  • Uses data to set strategies for research programs and uses the data to validate new and profitable revenue streams. Oversees all ad-hoc reporting to ensure the accuracy of the information distributed and the conclusions drawn.

  • Supports the Marketing and e-Business function’s need for enhanced customer segmentation variables including customer scoring and activity levels in a multi-channel environment that can be used to retain customers and drive activation. Creates scoring models that drive increased response and profitability

  • Manages a team of analysts in the development of ongoing reporting and ad-hoc analysis.

Nature and Scope

  • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.

  • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.

  • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
